Vito Walker
Vito Walker (b. 1989) is a fine artist based in London. Working across a range of disciplines, he still places drawing at the centre of his art practice. His works explore mythology. Taking subjects from the domestic sphere he interrogates their reciprocal effect within the dynamics of wider power structures. He depicts figures identifiable by their age, surrounded by environments in flux. Creating surfaces through collage that are inherently damaged and resistant he nurtures his subjects within them. A strength of emotion is conjured without linear narrative and through this the images argue with the myths they contain.
