Shame Film Screening
Join us for a screening of 'SHAME- the Art of Dr. D aka Subvertiser'. There will be an additional mystery street art film with Q&A to follow.
-------------------
Saturday 14th September 2024 6pm
-------------------SHAME focus' on Dr. D aka Subvertiser who has been taking to the streets with his fine-tuned social conscience for more than two decades.
The UK is governed by a political class and system that serves only to perpetuate its own power and privilege. It’s really not interested in fairness or justice. SHAME features works by dr.d that address: Authoritarianism; Surveillance; Misgovernment and Misinformation; Technocracy; Corporate and Municipal corruption.
Producer Olly Walker, director Jimmy Hedger and sound designer John Gosling together have crafted a visually compelling and aurally mesmeric short film. SHAME is an optic and sonic portrait of a splintered city, a rigged society. Panoramic, anonymous neo-liberal skylines tower over streets busy with people.cription goes here

Grief Quilt for Palestine
Join us for a very special opportunity to take part in a quilting bee for the Grief Quilt for Palestine. A collective action to show solidarity and support for Palestinians.
------------------
Sunday 15th September 2 - 5pm
-------------------
"Inspired by the long tradition of burial and memory quilts, Jess (a teacher at UCL at the time) and Jamila (then a student at UCL) created a community grief quilt where visitors, to an exhibition at the Slade, could stitch their rage, hope, and solidarity. Our Grief Quilt for Palestine affirms that Palestinians will exist, beloved in the future."
We are delighted to host the quilt for the duration of the Protest by Design exhibition.

‘Void’ gathers six visual artists who find agency in the subtractive and destructive processes of image-making. Each artist undergoes a crucial stage of erasing, scratching away, painting over, or shredding in order for the work to progress. This dismantled imagery becomes a platform for new narratives and forms to emerge whilst leaving traces of its history within the surface. This exhibition will seek to highlight these non-linear methods of image-making through various means of abstraction.
