Apply for a studio

We have two spaces available in existing studio shares from 1st April onwards.

Praxis N16 Ltd is a not for profit artist-led studios. We are supported by the charity Artcore International. We aim to support artists who need affordable studio space to carry out their practice.

Key information about studio spaces at Praxis N16

  • We have 17 separate studios on the first floor of 3-9 Belfast Road. The self-contained studios range in size from approximately 90sqft to 500sqft. The majority of our studio spaces have mezzanines and are shared between 2 – 5 people to help keep them affordable. All studios have 24-hour access, high ceilings, ample wall space, natural light, and openable windows.

    Studios are let on a fixed-term licence. Studio members pay a monthly fee to Praxis which includes management fees, electricity, water rates, business rates, waste collection, high-speed internet access, and building maintenance.

    Our aim is to support artistic practices that require studio space for creative work that could not be carried out in a clean space. Our studios are not suitable for hot works, welding, or kilns.

    We are in the process of building more studios so check back for future availability.

  • All studio members have access to a shared fully equipped kitchen with dining space. There is an external roof terrace with seating where studio members can eat together and socialise. We have access to a shared yard at ground level which can be used by studio members. The yard is sometimes used to host communal events with our downstairs neighbours.

    Studio members can also hire the main workshop space for photoshoots, builds or larger projects etc.

  • Praxis N16 is a safe and friendly community. We are supportive of people of all ages, disabilities, ethnicities, gender identities, backgrounds, sexual orientations and religions.

    Unfortunately, due to the nature of our Victorian warehouse building, we do not have step-free access to the first floor. We aim to support studio members with a diverse range of needs. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.
